Best Cheap Energizer Jump Start

This the Big Mack Daddy for sure! I was weary after looking at many many choices, but finally chose this one because of features and reviews - hoping I wouldn't be disappointed when it arrived. And I wasn't! I didn't have the ON/OFF switch on the jumpstarter on previous units, and really like this feature. You can hook up the cables on your battery, and get a confirmation that the cables are connected correctly (LED lights) without any power on the cables - then switch on the power after you're sure all is connected correctly. And the unit has plenty of power to start any but the largest of engines. The built-in LED light is powerful and lights everything under the hood or around the car. The unit is also perfect for usage in the home during storms/power outages with an inverter to power small AC appliances, as well as a DC outlet, and a USB outlet as well. I bought this a little less than 1 year ago, and used it occassionally, for emergency power. It worked fine when it worked, but this last time I pulled it out it was totally dead, and wouldn't charge. I contacted the company and they wouldn't replace it as they say the warranty is only 6 months. Amazon website says 1 year. I wouldn't buy another Xantrex product based on this lousy warranty / service...

Has all the bells and whistles and easy to hook up but make sure you use 4 gauge cable and a 140-150 AMP Circuit Breaker I found one at a local Custom Car install place in town for $20. You must allow a high amount of power to it but that is true with all Inverters at 1000 Watts. SMARThome (who I got mine from)Is not an authorized reseller and you will NOT be able to get Tech Support from the manufacturer nor do they offer support, unless bought from an Authorized Dealer you get no support. NO USB Hookup like I understood it would have.

Biggest flaw: it does not came with a power cord for charging! Add another $10~$30minor flaw: it's round design also has a round (bevelled) base that is extremely slippery. It's always on a different corner of my trunk... and i have a rubber mat there.expected flaw 1: the tire filler is ONLY FOR EMERGENCIES. otherwise it takes 2min per PSI increment on my car. Also, the gauge is really dumb. while most cars you have to fill around 30psi the gauge goes all the to zero. so you have NO idea if it's 20, 30 or 40psi. let alone 32 or 35!!!expected flaw 2: It will not work on bigger engines. I knew that and my i6 car is fine with it (never have to use for intended purpose so far) but helping a friend with a V8 was a futile exercise.good thing: used it several times to charge my mobile with gps when i forgot the car charger but had the wall plug charger in the backpack!durability: it's holding up for some time. but the green led is stuck inside the unit now... maybe because of all the sliding it does in the trunk.

This is a great size to fit under the back seat of my '06 Nissan Titan extended cab. The thing works GREAT too.

I've had one of these units for about a year. It's been very useful. Jump started my (seldom used) full size pickup truck twice, my wife's Honda Civic once. Also used the 120VAC outlet to make smoothies with a blender, just for fun. Plenty of power. A couple of shortcomings... The air compressor has very small capacity (high pressure but low flowrate). Works fine for filling basketballs and footballs. But, when I tried to use it to blow up my daughter's inflatable wading pool...forget it. It would have taken hours...was much faster blowing it up the old fashioned way. Also, the jumper cables are kind of short. You have to balance the (heavy) unit somewhere in engine compartment, in close proximity to the battery, so that the clamps will reach the battery terminals.

I had very mixed feelings about buying this Duracell product - probably because the reviews were so mixed. I bought it for a camping trip where I would need some limited electricity. The product arrived and I was very careful to follow all of the charging instructions. I let the product charge a full day longer than outlined in the product manual. When I finally turned it on, the compressor and the built-in light both worked. However, the battery would not power any of the electrical devices that I plugged into it - all of which were within the wattage/amp range of the device. I tried several items, including: a 60 watt lamp, a small air pump for my inflatable mattress, a small fan, and a laptop computer. The USB port did charge my iTouch iPod and my cell phone. I returned the product to Amazon within 30 days and they refunded my money.The concept is a great concept - however the product did not live up to the hype - too bad, because I was really hopeful that it would have worked as described.

I dont like writing poor reviews and this is the first one I have ever written. My wife left the key on in her 2005 Stratus all night and ran down the battery. What an opertunity to show her my new Wagan power domeJump start in action. Freshly charged for 34 hrs and ready to go. Wrong!Hooked it up, Hit the starter on the Dodge and all I got was click click click click. No start. What was wrong?? I checked it again, and again. Still nothing but clicking. The Power Dome was trying really hard but no luck. I got out my jumper cables and hooked them to my old 1994 chevy pick up and the Stratus took off Zoom Zoom, Zoom. No problem. To say the least I was shocked. The only thing I could think of was the cables on the Wagan are not strong enough to carry the load, I have read in other reviews complaints about the cable connectors. Some even have replaced them because of brakage. If any one has any sugestions what to do Im all ears. Sorry my review was not a good one.

After I charged the unit for 48 hrs, I was able to get it to work (for about half the time indicated in the manual). When I tried to charge it again, it doesn't even charge. It won't charge via AC adapter or DC adapter. Per the trouble shooting guide, I have to charge it in a running car for at least one hour next.I'll improve the rating if I can get it to work again. Definitely not happy if I need to send it back because it is quite heavy and of course shipping charges are not covered.

This item was not new as stated. When I opened the packed the inner box was old and scratched. the box that contained the charging cord is old and falling apart. The pin on the charging cord is all scratched so you could see it was used many times.This seller is dishonest. The power pack itself has a huge crack in it going almost the whole width of it. the sticker on the power pack is old & scratched. I think they purposely packed this unit poorly to make it look like the shipper UPS damaged it but I don't think that is the case. This unit looks like it has been damaged & kicking around a warehouse for a long time. Amazons policy is no return stating hazmat material. I will now have to dispute it on my card. This is a bogus return policy and is illegal in my state.

I bought this product after reading all the good reviews but I did not notice that no one that reviewed the product has used it as a jump starter yet, all reviews talks about how fast it will recharge while driving and how nice the order process was or the use of the air compressior.I had to use it to jump start my car once after 3 months of purchase and it seems not to have enough power to do so, however it works on jump starting a smaller car with 4 cylinders. I charged it fully and attempted to start multiple times with no luck.I guess if you are looking for a real jump starter then do not count on this unit for emergencies.

This thing is pretty amazing in what it can do for the low price. Sure, it has it's drawbacks, such as a relatively weak 500ma charger & noisy inverter, but all those things can be forgiven by the small price tag. I use the inverter to run my laptop when I am away from a power source and I can usually get a few hours worth of use out it. This thing was much cheaper than buying a new laptop battery and can do so much more. If it were any more expensive then I would say pass but for the price it is definitely worth it.

My husband has an old 1993 pickup with about 125,000 miles on it. Now that he's retired,he only drives it maybe 2-3 times/mth. Of course, at least once a month he has to jump start the battery. He asked me to look up battery chargers, and of course I came to Amazon.com first. I showed him a few systems and he chose this one. He has been so very pleased. Works every time and doesn't take long at all to get things going for him. Great little product and a great price.

My SUV's battery was totally dead and Energizer 84022 failed to jump start it even though it was fully charged. Tried a few times, making sure its charged for 24hrs - still no luck. The tow truck guy told me that this class of device can only supplant a weak battery ; it does not have enough amps in the event a vehicles battery is completely discharged/dead.Now it is sitting in my garage, plugged in. Amazon does not take back this product because of hazardous material shipment issues. So theres a zombie...
