Best Akebono Brake Pad Reviews

I am a repeat customer for the Akebono brand brake pads. I use them on all 4 of our cars and recommend them to family and friends. They last at least 30% longer than OE pads, but most importantly, I don't hear any brake noise, there is slightly better braking performance, they last MUCH longer than factory pads and most importantly, ALMOST ZERO BRAKE DUST!For our BMW & Mercedes cars, after about two weeks of driving on factory pads, the wheels would be caked with disgusting black brake dust. With the akebono pads, there is a light silver/grey brake dust that is barely noticeable. This is a great benefit as it doesn't make the car look so filthy all the time.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE!!!

If you hate brake dust(my wheels are still clean after 2 weeks, Its truly amazing how much the difference is from stock pads), and do not mind losing a little braking power, this will work for you. If you drive or brake aggressively (stopping last minuet) you might miss your old brakes. For most drivers I believe they will prefer these over stock since it helps you slow down more gradually and there is less initial bite. I bought this set for my 2007 Audi A4.

Excellent product, work as advertised.....very little dust, even after three weeks of daily driving. Now my rear wheels with OEM pads gets dirtier faster :(Installation is routine, no surprises on my wife's MY04 Mercedes Benz C230SS. Performance is comparable to the OEM brake pads and no abnormal noise. Will definitely get the rear pair when the OEM runs out.

These are the best pads I have ever bought which stop on a dime and are literally brake dust free. I purchased the front and rear for the awesome price of $170 almost. Been driving them for 7 months now without any problems. Seriously these pads keep my wheels brake dust free 99% of the time which is great. IF your looking to replace your brake pads look no further and grab the Akebonos first thing.

Shipping was fast, the price was right and the pads fit perfectly on my 2004 jeep. No more rear wheel (groan) when taking it out of park into another gear and no more squeaky stops, which is worth its price in gold!!The noise damper shims were already attached to the pads, so the installation was simple.

Just what I was looking for. I just had these installed today and am very pleased. They are super quiet, and brakes well. They come with noise reduction shims (already attached) with a special lubricant. Highly recommend it.

I replaced OEM Mercedes pads with these pads. They seem to provide the same breaking performance but with very little brake dust. So far I am very happy with them.One problem I had was that when I took them out of the shrink wrapped plastic, one of the two springs that hold the inner pad inside the piston broke free from the pad because it was stuck in the plastic and not fully attached to the pad. I tried for awhile to attach it back on but gave up and installed it without the spring. So far, I have had no issues.

purchased these for my X5 and "verified" that they were the correct pads. It turns out that there are 2 types of pads for the X5, American and euro. Well, since these say "euro" you would think they are the correct pad. Nope. Autozone has the correct euros (smaller pad) that fit my X5. Not a huge deal but the AZ euros are semi-metallic and I wanted ceramic. However, when you have no pad left and the truck on jackstands, you'll take what you can get... So, these might be great pads, but make sure you have exactly what you need to match your brakes.

This is the fourth set of these pads I have purchased for different vehicles. very pleased with stopping, dust free, clean wheels, (unlike original equipment). Now when I need brake pads, I don't shop, just repeat my order. Fast delivery. good price.

I purchased those for my 2001 VW GTi GLX VR6, in a pair with Akebono EUR340A EURO Ultra-Premium Ceramic Brake Pad Set. I am a spirited driver around the city and on the highways. I do not take the car on the track or other extreme-performance rides.The bite on those is not hard, but once you push the pedal down, the stopping power is as good as, if not better than OEM.My wheels have never been cleaner or quieter! Love those, only ceramics for me in the future.

Selected this brand of pad for my Bimmer via forums & reviews -- stopping power is as good as OEM as far as I'm concerned, and dust is waayyy down, almost non-existent compared to OEM. I'd recommend to anyone w/ former dust issue.

I read about these brakes on a couple of forums for BMW. I needed to replace the front brakes on my 2006 750Li so I wanted something that would perform well (since my car is heavy and fast) and not give me as much brake dust as the OEM organic pads. These are the best! Almost no brake dust and unbelievable performance. Highly recommended.

I replaced both front and rear pads to eliminate the dust problem on my 2009 BMW 128i. The pads that have the three clips that push into the pistons for the front brakes were very,very hard to push in place. It seemed as though they may have been for a larger size piston. I had to bend the clips to get them to push into place. The rear pads were not a problem to install, pushed right in place. I have written a letter to Akebono explaining this problem but have not heard back yet. I hope I didn't damage the rubber dust boots while I was having the wrestling match inserting these pads. This made a simple task difficult.

It does what it is supposed to do at a very good price. Easy installation for my 19 inch tv.

I used to use Wagner thermoquiets on most vehicles including my audis, well the a8 has hp2 caliper which takes 8 pads for the front axle.The wagners made tons of noise and were excessively dusty on this application, tried new rotors, swapped the pads numerous times (more than 3) and the noise continued.I finally ordered the Akebono pads and the noise was GONE, to top it off there is no brake dust on my wheels and I have had them installed for more than a month.
